Director of emek camp

Rabbi Tropper’s administrative day camp experience spans more than 2 decades. In the summer of 2002 he co-founded Keshet Boys Day Camp, later expanding it to include Keshet Girls Day Camp. His goal has always been to provide an outstanding and innovative camping experience to Jewish boys in southern California similar to an overnight camp experience. Over the years he has consistently made this goal a reality by constantly implementing exciting and unexpected events and activities into each camp day. This same experience is now part of Camp Emek Boys.

Rabbi Tropper has over 20 years teaching and administrative experience for Emek Hebrew Academy Teichman Family Torah Center and Shaarey Zedek congregation. He received semicha (rabbinical degree) from the Israeli Chief Rabbinate and is currently the Vice Principal at Emek Hebrew Academy, Teichman Family Torah Center in Sherman Oaks California.

Rabbi Dovid Morris

Assistant director

Rabbi Morris comes to us as our assistant director from Keshet where he was since 2003 and had been an integral part of their growth. Among his responsibilities at Camp Emek Boys is managing and overseeing the camp staff and he has proven his expertise in hiring the finest and most capable counselors. He has over 2 decades of teaching experience and is well respected and liked by students, parents and campers. His insight into innovative and exciting programming has added much to the unique camping experience of Keshet and other institutions. During the school year he teaches at Yavneh Hebrew Academy in Los Angeles California, and is involved in a number of other projects including adult education.

Counselors

At Camp Emek Boys, we realize that your child’s safety is of primary concern to you, and so it is to us. Therefore we only employ young men who portray the highest levels of maturity, responsibility and good middos. Camp Emek staff come from any number of Yeshiva high schools and batei midrashsos from across the country and Israel many have been campers or staff members previously at Keshet Boys Day Camp. Their previous experience at Keshet gives them a deep understanding of the Keshet philosophy and make them great counselors for Camp Emek. All counselors undergo a multi faceted interview process, and continue with in service training throughout the summer. Many of our counselors this inaugurating year have previously worked at Keshet Boys Day Camp and are well known to campers joining us from Keshet.
